• I am a Dutchman, I like to read about other countries. In general I read about history and books like travel guides to get an impression of a country. I like this book because it is a combination of serious history and funny trivia. That makes Texas and its inhabitants look like human beings -). I mean that it makes me understand another country and its inhabitants better when I read also about the little things of life. Besides it is well written and for me it is a fun to read, although I am not a native speaker
• Some reviewers mentioned factual errors contained in this trivia book, but I read these for fun and do not follow up with Google searches to verify the validity of the "facts". Having said that, I found this to be a well written book that I enjoyed reading for a lighthearted diversion from the seriousness of life.
• I plan to travel to Texas in September. I now have a much clearer appreciation for the state and what all it has to offer. Book is easy to read with short chapters. Whether you plan to Travel to Texas or Live in Texas, this is a book you will enjoy.
